Sophia Kirkby (born June 14, 2001, Ray Brook, New York) is an American luger specializing in women's doubles and singles, known for being part of the first US Olympic women's doubles team. She began luge at age 7 near Lake Placid, influenced by her father James, a former US Air Force bobsledder. Kirkby joined the USA Luge development group at 10 and the junior national team at 16. She won US national singles championships in 2020, 2023, and 2024 before focusing on doubles. Her achievements include bronze medals at the 2022 and 2024 World Championships in doubles (with Shevon Forgan), a silver in the 2024 team relay, seven World Cup medals in the 2024/25 season including gold, and a fifth-place finish in the women's doubles debut at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.
