Meghan Markle, born August 4, 1981, in Los Angeles, is an American actress and activist known for her role as Rachel Zane in the TV series Suits (2011–2017). She graduated from Northwestern University with studies in theater and international relations. Meghan married Prince Harry in 2018, becoming the Duchess of Sussex, and they have two children, Archie (2019) and Lilibet (2021). In 2020, they stepped down from royal duties and relocated to California.
Since then, Meghan and Harry established the Archewell Foundation and collaborate on projects including podcasts and Netflix productions. Meghan advocates for feminism, women’s rights, and mental health, and has authored children’s books. She is the first American of African American descent to join the British royal family and maintains a public presence through social media platforms formerly under the handle @sussexroyal.
